利茲大學位於英格蘭西約克郡的利茲市，成立於1874年，是羅素大學集團成員之壹，也是紅磚大學之壹。
利茲大學的前身是約克郡理工學院，或稱約克郡學院，後與利茲醫學院合並成為了聯邦維多利亞大學（曼徹斯特大學前身）和利物浦大學學院（利物浦大學前身）的壹部分。1904年，獲英國皇家憲章正式獲得獨立的大學地位並更名為利茲大學。
